What is a LAN party?
LAN stands for Local Area Network. At a LAN party, players gather in one place and connect their computers or consoles. Many modern games also use internet servers; the most important connection is with the people next to you.

Why go?
Cheer together after a clutch, try a new game and finally meet your squad in person. Come for the tournaments or simply for a weekend of relaxed gaming. You don’t have to be a top player.
What should you bring?
Check your organiser’s packing list. You usually need a PC or laptop, monitor, keyboard, mouse, headset, power cables and an Ethernet cable. Bring your ticket, ID, charger and any sleeping gear. Ask about chairs, food, showers and sleeping areas beforehand.
Do you have to enter a tournament?
No. Many LANs combine competitions with casual gaming and other activities. Tournaments may need a team and a separate registration. Use the game filter to find an event, then check the official site for rules and availability.
How do you prepare?
Install and update your games at home. Test your equipment and make a backup. Arrange seats and travel with your friends. Read the house rules, age limits, opening times and power policy so you arrive prepared.
Going on your own?
Absolutely. See whether the organiser has a community channel, team finder or activities for newcomers. Introduce yourself to your neighbours and ask the crew for help. Take breaks, drink water and get some sleep: there is a whole weekend beyond your next match.
